Furniture Frame Shop Woodworker/Carpenter

Corn Upholstery Co., Inc. has full-time positions open in our furniture frame shop requiring candidates with basic experience as carpenter, furniture builder, mill worker or wood worker. Candidates only need general experience with wood working equipment to apply.

Duties:
• Assembles wood frames for custom furniture
• Builds both from cut lists made from shop drawings and also assembles pre-cut frame parts using pneumatic staple gun and other joining tools
• Glues pre-cut frame parts and attaches legs, arms, and back pieces using pneumatic staple gun
• Nails, screws, or bolts plywood or other material to frame
• Applies veneers and prepares pieces for staining and finishing
• Cuts wood parts, according to specifications, using all types of sawing equipment
• May attach hardware to wooden furniture frame

Requirements/Responsibilities:
• Must perform job with safety as top priority
• Must have good hand-eye coordination
• Be prompt and dependable
• Ability to use pneumatic power tools (such as staple guns) to assemble frame parts
• Must be able to work in a dusty environment
• Must be able to bend and lift frame parts throughout shift
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. repetitively on a daily basis
• Could require lifting up to 75 lbs., carrying 40 lbs. or pushing and sliding up to 200 lbs. Requires ability to work while wearing required personal protective equipment such as safety glasses.

Our facility is located in Tucker, GA which is a NE suburb of Atlanta and easily reached via I-285, I-85 and Hwy. 78.
