Many choices and decisions should be made prior to starting your custom furniture project. It can take a team to determine all the choices needed to create the perfect piece of furniture, from the interior designer to choose the right fabric, to the engineer to craft the lines and dimensions of the piece, and the artisans to build and install it.
Professional and trade clients often have this team assembled beforehand. When you approach a custom furniture project from the position of a homeowner, it is recommended to hire one of these professionals to help you with all the ins and outs. However you choose to handle the run up to creating your custom furniture, it is best to compile some information beforehand. Some initial details to relay to your design professional are the dimensions of your custom seating (length, height, etc.), the design of the banquette (whether from our in-house selections or design inspirations from other examples), the desired fabrics and materials, and any information on the interior space (photos, layout, architectural drawings).
